The 12th annual Downtown Christmas Festival for the Village of Berrien Springs. The Library will remain open until 9:00 p.m. Come see the Library's window for the window decorating contest. Laura Whidden will perform Christmas music in the Library's Community Room from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and again from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a craft for children in the Library's Children's Department. Light refreshments will also be available in the Community Room

South Bend: First Friday at the Chocolate Cafe, Laura Whidden Live

Downtown South Bend will be going to the dogs for the September First Fridays, as we celebrate the "Dog Days of Summer." Bring your furry friend downtown for a fun night out! 

Over 25 booths will line Michigan Street filled with animal rescue groups, animal nonprofits, and groups who provide goods and services for animals. There will be a doggy fashion show, an ugly dog contest, and 4-H will give an agility demonstration. Dine with your dog at one of our pet-friendly patios, or take a horse-drawn wagon ride with your pet!

In addition to pet-friendly activities, there will be plenty for humans to do as well, like attend the architectural walking tour, SBMA exhibitions, or First Fridays Latin Dance party. 

Plus, as always, enjoy free shuttle service from Transpo - South Bend Public Transportation Corporation, live music, art exhibits, dining specials, and much more.

South Bend, IN Red Table Concert Series Presents Laura Whidden

will fill the streets of Downtown for 18 weeks during the Red Table Plaza Lunchtime Concert Series. Monday through Thursday, June 1 through September 28, soloists, duets and small groups will perform free acoustical concerts (weather permitting) from 11:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Downtown workers and visitors are invited to take a seat in Studebaker Plaza, at the southwest corner of Jefferson and Michigan Street. Grab lunch from a nearby restaurant or bring your own, then enjoy it while taking in the tunes! Click on 'lunch specials' in the menu above for a list restaurants offering "grab & go" specials.

The funds raised this year will be used with an emphasis on updating classroom technology. Funds raised in past years have updated our school kitchen, bathrooms, playground, technology, and a sound system.

Come enjoy appetizers and music, and bid on your favorite items from businesses in the area. Popular items include memberships to local parks and museums, oil changes, and restaurant certificates, as well as some larger items.
